It is important to us to pay attention to the composition of the products that are used in the sensitive intimate area. For this reason, we at pjur pay special attention to quality and high-quality ingredients. Here you can find out which ingredients are contained in the product:

Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Saccharin, Citric Acid.

What products should I use if I suffer from vaginal dryness?

For women who suffer from vaginal dryness, we recommend using our silicone-based personal lubricant or our water-based products that do not contain any glycerin or glycol to prevent any possible irritation of the mucous membranes.

Osmolarity In line with state-of-the-art technology, the focus here is on methods for alleviating vaginal dryness that make intimate sexual activities more comfortable, complement the body’s natural lubrication, reduce the symptoms of vaginal dryness.

Glycols and glycerin/glycerin are used as preservatives in water-based personal lubricants and can affect osmolarity. To maintain appropriate osmolarity, the amount of glycols and glycerin is kept at a certain threshold.

Excessive amounts of glycerin and glycols are toxic for lactobacilli and promote herpes simplex infections as well as bacterial vaginosis. In addition to this, glycerin/glycerin can be used a food source by candida albicans. (WHO 2012, Cagnacci, Gallo et al. 2019)

We can never fully eliminate the possibility of adverse reactions like this in individual cases with sensitive users. An existing irritation in the mucous membrane with small, invisible tears in the skin can result in slight sensations when the personal lubricant is applied.

Based on the information at our disposal, it can be assumed that a temporary, mild effect will occur, which is typical in the case of an allergy or oversensitivity to ingredients as a result of an existing inflammation or minor, undetected skin irritation.

What pjur products should I use if I am allergic to preservatives?

For users who are allergic or sensitive to preservatives, we recommend using our silicone-based personal lubricants, which do not contain any preservatives, to prevent any potential allergic reactions/irritations. For example, our pjur med PREMIUM glide or pjur med SOFT glide with jojoba. Alternatively, you can use our preservative-free, water-based personal lubricants such as pjur med SENSITIVE glide or pjur WOMAN Nude.

Application

To support moisture levels during sexual intercourse, apply the desired amount to the appropriate part of your intimate area. pjur personal lubricants are suitable for daily use and for use with latex condoms. Simply apply to the exterior of the condom once it is on. Biological compatibility has been tested by external laboratories, and skin compatibility has been dermatologically tested.

Our water-based personal lubricants are almost entirely absorbed by the top layer of skin. If you apply too much, simply wash it off with lukewarm water.
